Great Western Leasing & Sales began trailer sales and trailer leasing operations in 1971 at Salt Lake City, Utah. Merlin Norton started "Trailer Maintenance Leasing" to liquidate used trailers from the "FB Truck Lines" flatbed trailer fleet. Year later, after "FB" was sold, the trailer sales company was known as Great Western Leasing, and, in 1997, the trailer sales operation changed names to Great Western Leasing & Sales, Inc., which better reflects our evolution into a Truck/Trailer Sales company as well as Truck/Trailer Leasing company. Over the years, customers have been loyal to GWLS because we back up every used and new truck/trailer that we sell. The trailer sales company is now operated by a new generation. GWLS operates 5 trailer sale locations and continue to provide the best new trailers and used trailers for the best prices to our customers. FB was the largest flatbed hauling company in the west, and, accordingly, Great Western Leasing & Sales, Inc. became the largest flatbed/construction trailer dealer in the west, and later in the country.
